MSN losing market share

The latest comScore numbers on MSN show the Redmond giant is losing ground, down to 12.9% of online searches from 15.3% a year ago.

Paul Kedrosky comments that it is "remarkable watching how darn poorly MSN is doing" and that this may be "the real reason for continuing turmoil at MSN."

Without looking at browser share stats for the same period, I'm guessing that perhaps MSN losing ground conincides with IE losing ground? After all, how many people change the default homepage from msn.com to something else? And if they're switching to Firefox, the Google search box is right there on every browser window.
